This room is not large enough for both a sofa and loveseat. The sofa is crowded against the fireplace. The loveseat physically blocks traffic flow through the room and visually blocks the view from the kitchen.

Moving the sofa away from the fireplace and centering it under the window makes better use of the space. The loveseat was moved into the other room and replaced with the chair and ottoman. The mantel was given a less cluttered arrangement. The room is more inviting and is easier to navigate without all the obstacles.

Angled furniture arrangements actually take up more space and make a small room seem even smaller. The clock over the mantel is too little for the space. Lacking accessories, the mantel just blends into the wall.
